Safety is the primary design constraint of the platform, not a feature bolted on. Snowbotix combines redundant sensing, deterministic human override, and fail-safe behaviors so it can work around people and vehicles on active sites.

The Architecture

Three layers, no single point of failure.

Redundant perception

LiDAR, radar, stereo vision, and thermal sensing overlap so no single sensor failure blinds the system, and detection holds in whiteout and fog.

Deterministic override

A human supervisor can take control or trigger a hard stop in under three seconds; geofenced hard limits and physical e-stops sit beneath the autonomy.

Fail-safe by default

Loss of comms, GPS, or confidence triggers a controlled safe-stop rather than continued motion. The safe state is stopping.
